For more than 40 years The Breast Cancer Resource Center, located in the Princeton YWCA, has been providing free programs designed to help women through the entire breast cancer journey – from diagnosis through treatment, recovery, survivorship, and even recurrence. BCRC’s comprehensive approach to breast cancer support and education positively impacts the lives of more than 5,000 individuals each year, and helps hundreds of women learn to live with, through, and beyond breast cancer.
BCRC provides a mind/body wellness program, a prosthesis and wig boutique, and a patient assistance fund – all of which help patients/survivors manage the emotional and physical aspects of the breast cancer journey. Personalized information packs are available to the newly diagnosed. BCRC has a distinguished guest speaker and teleconference series. And, their lending library makes information about a range of breast cancer and survivorship issues available.
In addition to direct services for persons on the breast cancer journey, the Breast Cancer Resource Center provides extensive breast health and breast cancer awareness education throughout central New Jersey striving especially to reach women in medically underserved communities. Members of the Machestic Dragons have often been volunteers in BCRC programs.
The Machestic Dragons are proud of their long and continued relationship with BCRC and look forward to continuing this partnership going forward. BCRC has contributed funding for one of our professional coaches during the paddling season. In turn, a portion of the proceeds from Paddle for Pink are donated to BCRC for its wonderful programs.
